About
Dependency assessment, staffing and fees in one consistent method
CINDEX is an assessment tool for organisations that provide children's residential care. It reads the referral form, care plan and risk assessment for a child and scores them against four domains: needs, health, medication and risk. From those scores it produces a dependency level, a staffing model that sets out day and night support hours, and a transparent weekly and annual fee built from your own rate card.
Every assessment is calculated the same way, so two managers looking at the same child see the same level and the same figures. Ratings can be adjusted by hand where professional judgement differs, and the source documents stay attached to the record so the reasoning behind a placement can always be checked. Finalised assessments are collected in a register that can be exported as a spreadsheet for commissioning, occupancy and budget reporting, and front sheets and staffing pages can be printed for panel and placement meetings.
CINDEX is built for registered children's home providers, regional managers, responsible individuals and commissioning teams who need a defensible, repeatable basis for staffing decisions and fee negotiations. Child identities are held as initials, and records are only visible to the people your organisation licenses.
The tool is designed and built by Walford Management Services Ltd, who work with children's residential providers on placement costing and staffing structure. CINDEX is licensed to the named organisation only and is not a substitute for a full multi-agency assessment, nor for clinical, legal or financial advice.
